Lauren Dunn, MS, LPC

Lauren has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas Christian University and Masters in Counseling Psychology from Tarleton State University. Lauren provides individual counseling and EMDR. As a professional she has worked in the helping field in a variety of capacities. Lauren is passionate about helping people gain awareness, insight, and tools with the purpose of connecting them back to a life they can enjoy. She operates from a Christian worldview integrated with evidenced-based therapeutic practices. Lauren has been trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Lauren spent the beginning of her career on a mobile crisis outreach team and as an intensive case manager walking alongside individuals struggling with severe mental illness (SMI) and addiction issues. She has had the privilege of working with people at very difficult places in their life. During graduate school she counseled children and adolescents at a foster home and saw male and female inmates at a local jail. Lauren specializes in working with teens and adults who may be experiencing any of the following issues: Trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, addictions, have a loved one struggling with addiction, or other issues that interfere with the ability to enjoy life.

Lauren values one of the most important purposes of being human, that being ones ability to connect with others through relationship. She desires to help her clients see their value, restore their relationship to self, and improve ones ability to have healthy connections with others. Her goal as a therapist is to meet the client where they are and walk alongside them on their journey towards healing.
